A test is a repeatable question about behavior
For a delivery fee, the question might be: does a standard parcel return 5? ABAP Unit lets developers express such checks as test methods that can be run repeatedly in the ABAP development environment.
A small ABAP Unit test class

cl_abap_unit_assert=>assert_equals(
exp = 5
act = cut->fee( )
).
ENDMETHOD.
ENDCLASS.
FOR TESTING marks test-specific classes and methods. The assertion states an expected value (exp) and the actual value (act). A useful test has a focused name and checks an observable behavior rather than repeating implementation details.
Use a test double for a dependency
If a delivery service depends on lif_fee_policy, a tiny fake can implement that interface and return a predictable fee. Inject the fake into the service, then assert the service’s result without depending on external delivery rates or network behavior. For larger code, ABAP test-double tools/frameworks may help, subject to release and environment support.
Test reliably
Keep unit tests deterministic and isolated. RISK LEVEL HARMLESS expresses a test’s risk classification; it is not a substitute for designing the test to avoid unsafe external effects. Do not make unit tests depend on order-dependent Singleton state.
Practice
Write a FOR TESTING method with cl_abap_unit_assert=>assert_equals, expected value 5, and the delivery fee call. Set result to a description and add output for the chosen mode. The site only checks fragments—it cannot run ABAP Unit.
Version note: ABAP Unit capabilities, test seams/doubles, and project setup vary across ABAP Platform releases and language versions. Run the test in your own supported ADT/system.

Practice: assert a delivery-fee result
Declare a test method for ABAP Unit and assert that the fee is 5. Set result to a clear test-intent label.
This choice changes the output pattern checked here: WRITE belongs in a classic executable report, while out->write( ) uses the supplied output reference in an ABAP Cloud class-run method. It does not switch the language version of the other code; check release and API availability in your target system.
Complete the task and include the output statement shown for your selected environment. Variable names can differ if you use them consistently. This browser checker checks structure only; it does not compile or run ABAP.
