Look at the shape of the data before asking for it
The dispatch team wants overdue shipment counts. Before writing SQL, you need to know what data is available, how rows are identified, and whether the source is intended for your application.
Find the source definition
In an ABAP development environment, inspect the table or CDS entity definition and its documentation. For a table, note its key fields, data elements, client dependency, and relationships. For a CDS entity, also inspect its annotations, associations, and access-control annotations.
This fictional path uses a project-owned read model ZI_DISPATCH_ORDER with fields such as DispatchOrder, CarrierCode, Status, and CreatedAt. It is a teaching name, not a standard SAP object. Do not assume a Z* object exists in your system.
Why keys and source type matter
A key tells you how a row is identified; it does not automatically tell you which filters make a query fast. A database table is a persisted source, while an internal table is in-memory program data. A CDS view entity defines a reusable modeled read; it is not itself a stored table.
Cloud and Classic data sources
ABAP SQL syntax is largely shared, but source availability is not. Classic code may access project tables and APIs allowed by its system rules. ABAP Cloud restricts access to SAP repository objects to released APIs; use released SAP sources or project-owned objects designed for the Cloud model. Verify the source is available in your target package/language version.
Practice
Inspect the conceptual schema above and record the source and useful fields in result. This is a preparation exercise, not a database query. The checker verifies text patterns only.

Practice: identify keys and fields to select
Before writing a query, name the source and key fields in the supplied schema comment. Assign the chosen table name to result.
This choice changes the output pattern checked here: WRITE belongs in a classic executable report, while out->write( ) uses the supplied output reference in an ABAP Cloud class-run method. It does not switch the language version of the other code; check release and API availability in your target system.
Complete the task and include the output statement shown for your selected environment. Variable names can differ if you use them consistently. This browser checker checks structure only; it does not compile or run ABAP.

Write your solution, then check its structure.
One possible solution
DATA(result) = 'ZI_DISPATCH_ORDER: DispatchOrder, CarrierCode, Status, CreatedAt'.
WRITE result.out->write( result ).These are context-specific output examples. In your own program, use the result variable from your solution and the output mechanism available in that program.
