Bring the beginner building blocks together

This original review uses a fictional dispatch queue. It revisits decisions you have practiced: representing values, choosing an appropriate type, writing a condition, processing rows, and showing a result in the correct program context.

A small synthesis example

DATA(packed_count) = 0.
LOOP AT parcels INTO DATA(parcel).
  IF parcel-status = 'Packed'.
    packed_count = packed_count + 1.
  ENDIF.
ENDLOOP.

For a beginner, explicit LOOP AT and IF are often easiest to follow. A concise expression may be appropriate for a small single result; build a filtered table when you need those rows later. Choose the alternative that makes the intent clearest to the next reader.

Try the quiz

Answer the questions below, then read each explanation. They are original review questions, not copied from a course assessment. The quiz checks your choices in the browser; it does not execute ABAP.

Final reminder

Classic report output and ABAP Cloud class-run console output use different program contexts. Modern syntax and available APIs also depend on the target system’s release and language version. Confirm examples in your own development environment before reusing them.

Practice: Unit 2 knowledge check

Use the questions to review types, conditions, internal tables, and output context. Choose one answer for each.

1. Which construct best represents a value that must not be reassigned?

2. What is the simplest beginner-friendly way to inspect each table row and count matches?

3. What does an internal table represent by itself?

4. Which output example fits a classic executable report?

5. Which output example is shown for an ABAP Cloud class-run main method?

6. What does the site's code checker do?
